The Sharnbrook Academy Federation (SAF) exists to provide an outstanding education for all our students, putting their progress at the heart of everything we do.
The Sharnbrook Academy Federation currently (November 2016) has six member schools, a Teaching School Alliance and an ITT provider. This will continue to evolve as restructuring occurs in Bedfordshire, and further schools join our Multi Academy Trust.
The SAF Board runs the Multi Academy Trust and has four committees: the Finance Committee; the Risk and Audit Committee; the Pilgrim Academy Trading Board; and the Pilgrim Learning Trust Board. The SAF Board has delegated some matters to these committees and some matters to individuals.
In September 2017 we are delighted to be opening Great Ouse Primary Academy as a brand new school within SAF and further information on this, plus the details of how to apply for a place in either Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 can be found here – www.greatouseprimary.co.uk.
As Executive Principal I have overall responsibility for the day to day management of the schools in the Federation and am the Accounting Officer for the Multi Academy Trust. There is a Head of School within each SAF academy.
Each school has a Local Governing Body (LGB) to ensure clear challenge and support for each individual school. Although some tasks are delegated to the LGBs, accountability always sits with the SAF Board.
SAF has two subsidiary companies; Pilgrim Learning Trust (a company limited by guarantee) and Pilgrim Academy Trading Ltd.
We are very proud of the work we do at SAF in the very best interests of the students in our care and thank you for your interest in our schools.
