Janice eaglesham and Ian Mirfin have scooped up the Scottish Unsung Hero Award for their incredible work at Red Star Athletics Club in Dennistoun, Glasgow.

They have helped over 150 athletes since 1990 and have inspired everyone that they have worked with. they are so proud to accept this award and say they will continue to do their hard work and the return they get for their hard work is more prized than money, seeing athletes take part and help disabled people get involved in their activities is a more rewarding prize.

Athletes have been kept busy over the summer with league meetings and inter-regional championships at the Celtic Games in Antrim, Ireland.

Caithness have been involved in the last two North League meetings in Inverness, the second of which was almost cancelled due to the heavy rain, but fortunately for the travelling teams the officials allowed a it to go ahead.

Mid August saw Natasha Morris heading for international duty in Antrim, as part of the Scottish-U18 squad. Competing in the shot put, Natasha threw 9.41m to earn herself 3rd place. Selection for the Celtic Games is an achievement in itself for the athletes and is based on form throughout the season, with only one athlete being selected for each event.

Eight athletes were then in action at the second round of the competition in Inverness. Despite a low turnout from Caithness the athletes performed very well, gaining many personal best performances.

A new Scottish Athletics Under 16 and Under 18 inter-regional championships in Wishaw saw five athletes in action for the Highland Region Team.
