Assistant Facilities & Buildings Manager – non residential
Full time 37 hours per week
Grade BBU9 NJC 24 – 27 £28,672 - £31,346 per annum
Our facilities and buildings team are integral to supporting the education of our students by providing the very best learning environments to enable outstanding teaching to be delivered by our colleagues.
We are looking to recruit an Assistant Facilities & Buildings Manager to support our Facilities and Building Services Manager in the smooth running of our five academies and ancillary operations to support the education of our children. The role holder will line manage the work of site teams across the Trust.
Sound knowledge and experience of facilities management, Health & Safety compliance, cleaning, people management and general maintenance experience is required, as is the knowledge of building project management to ensure that the academies provides a safe and secure environment for our staff, students and visitors. A proficient understanding of the management of service contracts and suppliers within an education environment would also be an advantage.
The Assistant Facilities & Buildings Manager will be expected to implement, monitor and manage service and testing schedules, line manage staff, project manage necessary works, as well as ensure planned maintenance works are carried out in a timely and effective manner with procurement being sourced on a VfM basis in line with the SAF Financial Regulations Manual.
Although the role reports to the Facilities and Building Services Manager the role holder will be expected to be able to work independently to a very high standard, in line with legislation & SAF policies.
An excellent understanding of Health and Safety requirements and procedures are needed to ensure that all duties are carried out with diligence.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate they are motivated and committed to working to a high standard, can make effective and evidenced based decisions, enjoy working as part of a team and be flexible in their approach to both the job role and the changing, and often urgent, needs of our academies.

A full clean driving licence is essential to assist in maintaining the academies fleet of minibuses.
Although primarily based at Sharnbrook Academy you will be required to travel between all our academies within the Trust. Flexibility to cover sickness and annual leave across the SAF site team will be required.
